The pattern of international trade between Bangladesh and USA: Heckscher–Ohlin and Rybczynski analysis

Purpose Research based on Bangladesh–US trade data examines the Heckscher–Ohlin model and Rybczynski hypothesis in this study. Design/methodology/approach Ordinary least square (OLS) techniques are used study, which relies from NBER International Trade Geography Data UN Comtrade Database for years 2018 2008. Findings The research shows that between United States Bangladesh follows Rybcyzinski's predictions. According to since labor is plentiful supply Bangladesh, Bangladesh's labor-based sectors have a higher US labor-to-capital import shares than capital-based industries. As has not changed significantly country 2008, it retains same pattern even though share of unskilled imported decreased 2018. Originality/value findings study wide range implications both theory policy debates States.
